Teaching aims:

Students can understand the meaning of the new words and master the sentence patterns “Where is the art room?”, “It is on the second floor.”

Students can be familiar with the topic about schools..

Ability aim:

Students can use the target language in their daily life.

Students will improve their speaking ability.

Emotional aim:

Students can foster their awareness of interest in English and cooperation through class activities.

Key and difficult points:

Key point:

To grasp the meaning and pronunciation of “art room”, “washroom”, “gym”, and “TV room” and so on.

Difficult point:

To foster students’ interests in learning English and use the topic in daily life.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Warming-up

1. Greetings.

2. Let students enjoy a song named In My New School and ask them the topic of this song. The song goes like this:

In my new school, in my new school.

There are buildings in the school.

They are art rooms. They are washrooms.

In my new school where I live.

In my new school, in my new school.

There are buildings in the school .

They are TV rooms. They are music rooms.

In my new school where I live.

Ask students to answer the question. Then tell them that today topic is also about schools and lead in the topic.

Step 2: Presentation

Do a guessing game: draw some stick figures on the blackboard and guide them to understand the meaning of the words by some inspiring questions such as: What can you see from the first room? Where can you see it? And then repeat after me for three times.

Introduce and explain the usage of the sentence structures “Where is the art room?” and “It’s on the second floor.”

Step 3:Practice

1. Play a game: finger show.

Number the words from 1 to 6 and then ask students to read the words according to the fingers that teacher shows to them. When the teacher shows one figure, students should read the first word. When the teacher shows two figures, students should read the second word.

2. Make new sentences according to the new words and sentence structures on the blackboard. Ask students to work with their desk mates in 3 minutes.

Step 4: Production

Activity one: suppose a foreigner will visit our school and ask students to do a role play in groups of two and use the expressions we learned. One should be the visitor and the other should be the representative. 5 minutes are given for discussion.Then invite some groups to share and give positive evaluations.

Activity two: sing the chant on the textbook together.

Step 5: Summary and Homework

Summary: invite a student to be a little teacher and summarize today’s lesson.

Homework: ask students to draw his/her ideal school and try to introduce it next class.

1.谈谈你的板书设计。

【参考答案】

My blackboard design is simple but clear. There are there parts for it. The first part is the title after singing the song. The second part is some stick figures of the new words. It can enrich the content of my blackboard design and attract students’ attention. Moreover, this activity can create a real situation to help students get the meaning of target words and stick figures can make a deep impression on them.The last part is the key sentence pattern. Through this design, it is easy for my students to quickly and correctly grasp the key points and difficult points of my class.

我的板书设计非常简单明了。它包含了三部分。第一部分是在歌曲结束后呈现标题。第二部分是通过简笔画呈现本节课的新单词,这样不但可以丰富板书的内容且吸引学生注意,而且通过板书,学生能快速掌握单词的意思,给他们留下深刻的印象。最后一部分是句型。通过这样的设计,学生能更快速掌握本节课的重难点。

English teachers should adopt effective teaching methods according to the characteristics and actual needs of elementary school students to enhance the fun of vocabulary teaching, stimulate students' interest in vocabulary learning and improve English classroom teaching.effect. In my opinion, there are many methods that can be used.

First, present words in multiple ways to deepen impressions. Teachers can use intuitive teaching methods such as physical objects, pictures, toys and multimedia courseware and so on to stimulate students' strong interest in English vocabulary learning. Second, combine the words with the sentence pattern, which could consolidate the new words. In a word, every method could be useful with all hearts.

英语老师应该根据小学生的特点和实际需要,采用有效的英语词汇教学方法,增强词

汇教学的趣味性,激发学生学习词汇的兴趣,提高英语课堂教学效果。我认为有很多方式可以采用来教小学生单词。

首先,多种方式呈现单词,加深印象。老师可以采用实物、图片、玩具、多媒体课件等直观教学手段,激发学生强烈的英语词汇学习兴趣。其次,老师可以把单词跟句型结合,这也能巩固其所学单词。总之,只要用心,每个方法都会有用。
